Master Sigmundr Haakonarson (OL) is a Viking who left Norway due to philosophical disagreements with King Haraldr Harfagri over the subject of taxes, and, together with his wife Ságadís Duncansdaughter, has taken up land in Ireland, where he raises horses and works in his smithy. He is a noted skald and teller of tales. He is squired to the noble and virtuous knight Sir Brendan the Tired of Nordmark.
