How to find us!

Directions to our regular events in Kilmurry House

We are situated approx. half way between Dublin and Limerick airports.

From Dublin (Dublin Airport)

  1. Follow the signs (N7) to Limerick and stay on this road (motorway) until you reach the town of Roscrea.
  2. Continue towards Limerick until you come to the 3rd roundabout.
  3. At this roundabout take the third exit marked Town Centre and continue down the hill.
  4. Take the first road on the left beside ‘The Bridge Bar’, signposted Shinrone.
  5.  Follow this road (approx. 8 miles) until you reach Shinrone and then turn right at the T-junction towards Birr.
  6. Follow the road for approx. 1 mile, past the cemetery until the road comes to a Y-junction.
  7. At this point there is a driveway to your left marked SCA.  Take the driveway and continue to the end.

From Limerick (Shannon Airport)

For those coming from Limerick take the N7 signs for Dublin and when you reach Roscrea take the first exit, then follow the rest of the directions.

Transport
We will try and do pickups from Roscrea (Co. Tipperary), and Birr (Co. Offaly) for those travelling from afar.
There is an hourly bus schedule between Dublin and Limerick (stops in Roscrea) which may help people coming from Shannon and Dublin. There's a train from Dublin about 17:30 on Friday evening.
So hopefully getting there will not be too traumatic, but we are a very rural shire. (The exact middle of nowhere was discovered by the great Italian creative explorer Cernacchio Missingallo in 1479 to be one and a half miles north of our site.)

Bus services:
BusEireann
JJ Kavanagh and Sons

Train (Limited service out here):
CIE

If you need any help getting here let me know and I'll do my best to find a way. As far as we are from the rest of the SCA we're keen to have you come to us!

If anyone needs directions other than those, please feel free to contact the Seneschal. If you have any problems just call.
